CLE has a consolidated rental car facility located off the airport grounds. Shuttle service is available for all rental car customers from the main terminal to the rental car facility. The rental car shuttle departs from the rental car shuttle terminal, located at the Ground Transportation Center (GTC). The GTC is located at the northend of the terminal on baggage level. Travelers can utilize the 2 banks of elevators across from the welcome center or escalators by claim 9 and claim 3 to access the baggage claim level. Two automobile safety advocacy groups petitioned the Federal Trade Commission in 2010 to bar Enterprise Holdings, the parent company of Alamo, from renting out recalled vehicles that had not been fixed. Alamo was criticized in The New York Times for failing to provide information about insurance rates for its rental cars on its website.
The 5-story Consolidated Rent-A-Car (CONRAC) houses ten (10) car rental companies in one location. Entrances to the facility are located directly across Terminal 2, outside of Baggage Claims 26 and 31. Passengers arriving at Terminal 2 Baggage Claims 19-31, can easily walk to the entrances previously noted. Passengers arriving at Terminal 1 Baggage Claims 6-11, Terminal 2 International Arrivals, Baggage Claims 16-18 and Terminal 3, can proceed to the designated rental car shuttle pick up points to be transported to the facility. Upon arrival at the facility, proceed to Level 2 where the following companies are located.
Shuttle bus service is provided during the daily operational hours of the facility, from 0400-Midnight. Business hours may vary by rental car companies, so customers should contact their provider for this information.
Upon arrival at the CONRAC, proceed to the PRE-ARRANGED 4 area located on the ground level, west end of the CONRAC structure. Prior pick-up arrangements with your Off-Airport car rental company is required. Pick-up is located along the blue and white curb.

The easiest way to pay for your rental is by credit card. Travelers with an American Express, MasterCard or a Visa credit card will have no problem paying and picking up their rental. In certain countries, paying for your rental with a debit card is possible when booking with Alamo through Auto Europe. If you are using a debit card, you will want to be sure you know exactly how much the deposit on your rental will be as it will be charged to your debit card when you pick-up your vehicle and not returned until after the car has been returned and inspected.
